Information Visitors Provide
Search Terms
When a visitor enters a name, county, state, or other search detail into a sponsored search tool, that query is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Hood County Inmate Population does not store those search terms in its own records.
Messages
If a visitor sends an email or other contact message, the information in that message may be kept long enough to read, route, and answer it. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, this site may receive routine technical data when pages load. That data helps measure traffic, diagnose errors, and keep pages working.
- IP address.
- Browser name and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on pages.
- Referring website, when one is available.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools may be used to understand how people use the site and to support advertising or analytics. Browser settings usually allow users to block or delete cookies, although some functions may behave differently after cookies are blocked.
How Information Is Used
- To keep the site available, readable, and reasonably fast.
- To route search requests to the partner service that powers the search box.
- To understand which Hood County jail, court, and locator pages visitors use most.
- To find broken links, display problems, and technical errors.
- To support advertising that may be based on interests or browsing signals.
Outside Websites and Services
Pages may link to Hood County jail resources, sheriff records channels, Texas Department of Criminal Justice tools, VINELink Texas, BOP and ICE locators, government portals, and private search providers. Once a visitor leaves this site, the privacy policy of the destination site controls that visit.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites and show targeted ads. That tracking occurs through the partner's systems, not as an official Hood County service.
